The paint and body work was done with great care however once you put metallic paint and clear coat on the body, any shortcomings come to the surface. It runs well, restored well and looks great. Cosmetic restoration.I have receipts for all the parts and material used on the El Camino which totals in excess of $21K. During the restoration process there was no evidence of any collision or frame damage, A new vinyl top was added as well. All if this was color sanded and polished. PPG PolyPrime used as a primer throughout, 2 stage finish, 2 coats of base coat with 3 coats of clear. All rust areas either cut out and patches welded in place or chemically treated. The body was stripped to bare metal (sanded, sandblasted or chemically stripped). It was not a frame off restoration but close. Body restorationThe body restoration was pretty extensive. It also has a new battery and alternator. Exhaust system was upgraded with turbo flow mufflers. The car has non-power drum brakes all around. The car is mechanically sound, runs and drives well. This includes rebuilding the front end, adding a ¾ race cam, high rise Holley manifold, HEI, and Holley dual feed carburetor. MechanicalsThe previous owner(s) did most of the mechanical modifications and upgrades.
